Islamabad Pakistan Squash Federation Vice President Qamar Zaman said sports activities around the world have been affected by the global outbreak of the corona virus, but players will have to continue training to maintain fitness, professional in Peshawar in October this year. Squash Federation contests will be played; academies have been set up to bring new talent to the country.
Talking to the APP on Tuesday, he said that the Professional Squash Federation (PSE) had suspended international competitions for two months. Within two months Qatar, Kuwait, Pakistan, Malaysia and the Asian Senior Squash Championship PSA have postponed, and a new schedule will be announced later.
Similarly in Pakistan, the PSA Air Staff International Squash Championship for Men and Women, which started in April, was suspended at the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad in the first week of April due to the Corona virus. ۔
Other national events have also been postponed due to the Corona virus. He said that the corona virus has definitely affected sports activities internationally, including Pakistan, but players will have to continue training to maintain their fitness. He said that unless the fitness of the players is correct then continuity in their game will not continue.
Qamar Zaman said the PSA event was scheduled to be played in Peshawar next month after 10 years, but due to the Corona virus, it will now be played in October in Peshawar. He said that the future of squash in Pakistan is bright. Academics are working in Lahore, Peshawar and Karachi to bring in new talent in the country, in which former senior players are training junior players. Over the next five to six years, talented players will emerge from these academies who will make Pakistan's name known globally. Air Chief Mujahid Anwar Khan, President of Pakistan Squash Federation and other officials of the Federation are taking strong steps to promote and improve squash.
